The heart of 

Child Care

Caring for children is the most noble job in the world and comes with an immense responsibility. The first 7 years of a child’s life form the blueprint for who they will become. They’re learning about what it means to be human and to be themselves. Having worthy role models matters.  It matters who is around the child. It matters how they are with them and It matters how the childcarer is in themselves.

The adults who work with children benefit the child, and themselves, by continual learning and self-growth. This is our gift to the child and at the same time, it’s the child’s gift to us.

How it started

As a mother of an emerging adult, I understand, more than ever now,  how fundamentally influential the early years, and the people around our children, are. Over two decades ago I trained and qualified as a Waldorf Kindergarten Teacher and since then I’ve been working with young children and their families, in school and home-school environments. While teaching and parenting, I came to quickly see the need for more support and education for the nannies who help us raise our children. Their role in our child’s development can’t be overlooked and needs to be valued and nurtured.

The seeds of something new

I began putting together and offering a series of workshops for Nannies in my community. Since then it has gradually developed into an enriching programme that I’ve offered in Cape Town ( South Africa), Dubai (UAE), and also online. I’m also adding shorter master classes, an introduction to Waldorf Webinar for childcarers whose kiddos are in Waldorf schooling.

I bring to this programme all my years as a parent, teacher, early childhood specialist, artist, creator, nature lover, student of self-development, and more recently my journey into being a Parent Coach. It‘s also built firmly on the foundations of child development and weaves together Waldorf Education, Emotional Intelligence, Brain and Nervous System Science, Attachment Theory, Non-violent Communication, Conscious and Gentle Parenting, and Positive Discipline.

If the in-person course in Dubai is not possible then there’s the Online course. Two-time options allow for more flexibility in the week, with no traveling time or costs.
